The journey to the North Western Luzon is historically rewarding. Vigan, aside from being the heart of Ilocos Sur, is known for its Spanish Architecture, cobbled streets and delicious, distinctive local foods.

I was charged 2300 pesos (U$55). It was my worse night mare come true. A total dump!! Such a run down place. AC sounded like a malfunctioning jet engine. No blankets. A small 14" that hardly had any reception, not to mention that I had one of those in my bedroom 30 years ago. No toilet paper. Towels were rotten and stinking. No soap or shampoo was provided. Toilet did not flush. The water heater was broken. And the breakfast included one cold fried egg probably from a day or 2 ago, some wrinkled tomatos slices and a little bit of cold rice. When I asked for coffee they said it was gonna cost me extra. STAY AWAYYYYY.
The beaches are absolutely littered. There is not one decent place to eat anywhere in a walking distance. This is a ran down, roach infested dump!!!!
